I can’t stop listening to Lauryn today. Not because I’m sad but because I’m empowering myself for better things.

I love Lauryn Hill. I was actually just thinking about this album the other day. Growing up there is music that you love because your parents love it or memories are attached (e.g. for me James Taylor, The Eagles, Jackson Browne), and there is music that you love because it’s yours and it means something to you. When I was a teenager I listened to this CD from beginning to end over and over. I knew every word to every song (and still do…mostly). And for that reason I will always love Lauryn Hill.
